About Eric Weston, RN
Eric Weston’s journey into nursing began through a serendipitous encounter with a nurse practitioner, sparking his interest in a career dedicated to helping others. After exploring various career paths, Eric discovered his calling in healthcare and pursued his Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Southwestern Oregon Community College.
What initially drew him to the profession was the vast scope of opportunities within nursing—a lesson reinforced early in his education when an instructor shared the story of a nurse who worked for NASA, illustrating that nursing could take him virtually anywhere.
This foundational understanding of nursing’s versatility would prove invaluable throughout his diverse and accomplished career.
Eric’s clinical expertise was forged through progressive roles across multiple specialties, beginning with pediatrics before advancing to intermediate care and ultimately intensive care units.
His passion for critical care flourished at a 24-bed medical ICU in Eugene, Oregon, where he honed his skills in advanced cardiac life support and developed a deep appreciation for the autonomy and collaborative relationships that define critical care nursing.
His clinical journey expanded to include emergency department nursing, charge nursing responsibilities, and house supervisor roles, where he coordinated patient placement and managed hospital operations.
Eric’s commitment to professional growth led him to earn certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), while gaining expertise in dialysis and code team leadership.
As a travel nurse, Eric embraced opportunities to expand his clinical horizons at prestigious institutions including Penn State Milton Hershey Medical Center and Stanford University Hospital.
His travel nursing experience exposed him to diverse healthcare systems and advanced protocols, particularly in specialized areas like hepatobiliary services, where he cared for patients undergoing complex liver resections and esophagectomies.
These experiences at top-tier teaching hospitals enriched his clinical knowledge and reinforced his appreciation for evidence-based practice and cutting-edge medical care. The demands of travel nursing also strengthened his adaptability and ability to quickly integrate into new teams and environments—skills that would prove invaluable in his future roles.
Following his extensive bedside experience, Eric transitioned into case management, where he discovered his passion for helping patients navigate the complex healthcare system beyond hospital walls. This role opened his eyes to the critical importance of discharge planning, community resources, and ongoing support services in ensuring patient success.
Today, as Senior VIP Client Liaison at NurseRegistry, Eric combines his comprehensive clinical background with his natural ability to advocate for others. In this role, he serves as a bridge between families facing difficult times and the nursing resources they need, using his deep understanding of medical complexities to help clients navigate what can be an overwhelming system.
Eric’s mission is clear: to become the advocate who helps people understand available resources and find meaningful healthcare connections during the most challenging periods of their lives, bringing relief and support to both patients and their families.
