Location: Sacramento, Marin County, Ventura County, Los Angeles, San Diego — CA
Description: We are seeking Licensed Vocational Nurses and Registered Nurses (RNs) to work per diem in an inpatient psychiatric facility.

  • Complete physical and mental health assessments
  • Educate patients and their families in appropriate treatment to assist individuals in improving and/or maintaining health
  • Administer and monitor treatment regimens-Administer prescribed medications, making constant adjustments commensurate with a patient’s condition under the supervision of qualified medical staff
  • Observe and report changes in a patients’ condition and behavior promptly and appropriately to the physician/appropriate individual
  • Maintain control of drugs/medications
  • Act as liaison between the physician, staff and patient/family by communicating with family members/physicians regarding specific patient needs, complexities or unusual findings to promote continuity of care
  • Must be flexible and have the ability to adapt to changes in work environment.

Primary Locations:

  • Marin County


  • Current CPR certification-Current workplace assault crisis training (eg. ProACT)
  • Minimum one year experience working in a psychiatric facility
  • Basic knowledge of clinical procedures, medical terminology
  • Ability to communicate effectively (oral/written)
  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy in dealing with people, both internal and external customers-Must be able to prioritize and maintain a calm demeanor while completing multiple tasks
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

Required Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
Required license or certification:

  • Current California RN/LVN License
  • Current BLS Certificate
  • ACLS a plus
